Oh my goodness, where do I even start with McLaren and Ross?
Let’s see, first of all, they actually remind me a lot of Don and myself (personality wise)! My excitement for their wedding is almost doubled you guys! They are so personable and sweet that even as strangers it was easy to start up a conversation and get to know them! If I could describe these two beautiful humans, I would probably describe them as kind souls! This resonates so deep with me because the whole basis I try and run my business on is KINDNESS!
I was beyond ecstatic to shoot their engagements especially after finding out that the location they picked was Fort Fisher (one of my favorites)! When we arrived, honestly the first thing that popped into my head was MAJOR hair envy! hahaha, I tend to do that a lot! But really, McLaren’s hair is spectacular!
So we got there and went straight into those ‘to die for southern live oak trees’, because you can’t shoot at Fort Fisher and not feature those babies! I like to imagine I’m in Savannah, GA when I shoot there. And you better believe that is a destination on my list of East Coast places I must go! When we started shooting, this couple was all smiles! These two have the utmost admiration and respect for one another but let me tell you, they know how to have a good laugh!
At one point in the session, I instructed Ross to “grab McLaren’s face and kiss her.” At times, I like to be a little vague with my instructions to allow for natural creativity from the couple to shine through.. Let me tell you… it shown through alright, when we placed his palm smack dab in the middle of her face and gave her a nice big smooch! It couldn’t have been any better! Best creativity I’ve seen yet!
Their little acts of love and service, not only to one another, but to others as well is so evident! After the session, they asked if they could treat ME to some of the best donuts I’ve ever had!! I mean, how sweet can they get??? I am one blessed photographer to have such amazing couples! And one thing is for sure, I CAN NOT wait to shoot their wedding!
