Driving up to the session… the smell of smoke was seeping in. Neither of us really knew what to expect. My first thought was how it would affect the photos (of course). My second thought was weather or not I’d be able to breath (or anyone else for that matter).
Much to my surprise, the smoke created such a lovely aesthetic in the photos that I wouldn’t give up! Added to that, was the oh so natural and photogenic family, the Mcadoos!
It all started out with a plate full of cookies!
It was a Sunday in February and we just made the largest batch of cookies! Of course I was going to eat a few of them, but not that many! We just had a family move in down the street and me, being the curious neighbor that I am, decided I would prepare a plate for my new neighbor! Is it just me, or is it weird to live next to someone and not at least knowing their names?
This gave me a great excuse to meet my new neighbors!
Of course I had to drag my husband with me because he’s a little less social than I am but once we got there, things just started rolling! Ashley and I got along immediately! I think it’s safe to say we are quite alike! And when we brought up photography, neither one of us could stop talking!
In the weeks to come, we had built up the kind of friendship where it doesn’t matter if you come over in your PJ’s with out make up on while your hair is in a bun, left over from the night before.
Yes, I’ve even been over to ask for a cup of Sugar… no I’m kidding……………… it was Mustard. (;
The Mcadoo’s are such genuine people with the most incredible spirits! Ashley and Austin are such a strong couple to look up to. It’s beautiful seeing their faith in the lord and their love for each other and their ADORABLE little girl Addie! I’m grateful to have them around and I know I say this a lot, but even more grateful to have taken their photos!!!
