I could barely press the shutter button. My fingers felt like ice. Not only was I shivering, but just about everyone was! And yet, there she stood strong as ever; you wouldn’t know it was below freezing with the amount of grace and poise she had.
New Mothers have such a beauty to them that it’s undeniable. McKenzie was no different! She was probably the toughest one in the session when it came to the cold and I even had a coat on.
I was so excited to work with McKenzie and Kelly from the moment they contacted me! McKenzie had told me that she’d had a dream of me taking her photos which I thought was so fun! (I’ve had silly dreams where I met another photographer I look up to, Joy Michelle, and when I left, I forgot to take a selfie with her and I was so sad)! Anyway, I had known Kelly from mutual friends clear back in middle school but I think the first time I met McKenzie was at Dian and Jayde’s Wedding. McKenzie was one of Dian’s bridesmaids so I got to work with her a lot and just loved what I got to know about her!
She is incredibly bubbly and outgoing! She knows how to get things done and she is also INCREDIBLY good at working with florals. Fun fact: McKenzie and her mother actually made her floral crown that she is wearing below!
Can floral crowns NEVER go out of style please?
Everything about this session was a dream! After being here in North Carolina, I was VERY eager to get home to Utah and do a session with some form or landscape other than the beach or trees! (Don’t get me wrong, I’m IN LOVE with beach sessions, but I’ve missed Utah’s scenery)!
I’m SO glad I got to hang out with these two (technically 3) while I was there . I’m also so excited for McKenzie and Kelly; for them to start their journey as parents! I know that I say this a lot , but their little girl really will surely be loved!!!
