Yes you read the title right! We are expecting baby #2!
Don and I couldn’t be more excited for this little baby to come! We are due in November again, 6 days after Everett’s birthday to be exact (talk about timing…), and we are thrilled to be growing our little family of 3 to a family of 4!
For a while, I had always envisioned myself having all my children 2 years apart! I grew up in Utah and that’s a pretty typical gap for children! I felt like we needed to fall into that perfect little family, popping out kids every 2 years! But the closer we came to that point, the more I realized I wasn’t quite ready for another one yet! I felt guilty and a little bit selfish, but looking back I know that it just wasn’t the right timing.
Over the next year, Don and I prayed to know when the right time would be to start trying again, putting everything in God’s hands. That year we spent multiple nights at our bedside having a rage of conversations going from, “I think we are totally ready for another child,” to “Nope. Not yet!” But as I have learned throughout my life, the more I fight it, the more I know it’s right. I’m simply stubborn and God knows it.
When we finally decided we were going to try, a wave of peace came and everything seemed to line into place. Don and I felt not only closer to God, but to each other as well. We also had a greater appreciation for Everett in the daily things. Shortly before Don left for deployment, I found out I was expecting and couldn’t WAIT to tell him! (Let’s be honest, Don had been ready for another little baby for about a year and a half now and was just waiting on me.) He was ecstatic!
This little baby has already made a special place in our heart as it continues to grow! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed feeling little kicks and wiggles again! And I’ve LOVED seeing Everett’s reactions to the baby! He loves to give my belly hugs and kisses and tells the baby to “Go to sleep,” and that “he loves it!” He also loves to rub my belly which just makes my mama heart just swell!
I have become super crafty this pregnant and want to do all the crafts in the world for this baby! Including the embroidery of our sweet little one’s ultrasound below! I’ve also took up knitting, making a Macramé and a plethora of other crafts hahaha!
As for Don, he loves receiving belly updates, videos of Everett’s excitement and Facetimes of little kicks and wiggles! We are so happy and grateful for God’s plan for us and his timing!
