I remember the look of her hands specifically. My mother. Something about the look of Kelsey hands reminded me of her.
Growing up, I always thought my mother had the most beautiful hands. And the only thing I can think to describe them as, is motherly. Someone who is hard working, but gentle. Hands that are full of strength and still have the ability to nurture. I guess it’s no surprise that Kelsey’s hands bore a resemblance to my mothers.
After getting to know Kelsey and after many conversations… I know the type of mother she is, not only by the stories her hands tell, but by seeing, first hand, the love she has for her family and specifically children. And I know that love will increase exponentially once this new little one is born!
I absolutely loved this natural themed session. We joked around that it was almost a little amish with the simple striped dress and an uncomplicated floral crown. Also, Let’s not over look that Spanish Moss! I don’t think it will ever cease to tug at my heart strings! Everything about this session gave me happy vibes!
For those of you who don’t know, (a.k.a. most people except friends and family) Del and Kelsey are my brother and sister-in-law and little miss Adeline is my niece.
Del… bears a VERY close resemblance to someone you guys may know as my husband! (; (; (: Yes. They are identical twins. However, not very identical to me. You can ask both Kelsey and I and we will both tell you how different they look and act! But oh the similarities!
To give you a little back story on how and why I was able to take these photos for Del and Kelsey, Del joined the Marine Corps at 18 and got stationed here at Camp Lejeune. After a couple of years, he met his wife Kelsey, and decided to stay here with her. During this time, Don served an LDS Mission in Brazil, came home, met me and we got married in college, and joined the Marine Corps a few years later. Now we are currently stationed at Camp Lejeune and Del and Kelsey live only a couple hours away!
We definitely consider it a blessing to have family so close while we are clear across the country from the rest of our family. I’m so grateful I got to take these photos for them because, though my clients feel like family in general, these three already are!
