I met Maddie and Nick at a wedding I photographed last year. My bride, Brooke had Maddie as a maid of honor. These two are the best of friends and watching them interact reminded me of my ride or die BFFL. Following the event, Maddie reached out to me about her own wedding and I’m so thankful she did!
If there was one word to describe these two, it would be kindhearted! With so many changes this past year, it would have been easy for anyone planning a wedding to get overwhelmed and flustered. But despite the hardships of 2020, masks on all the guests, and a smaller wedding party, I’ve never met a couple more full of smiles, and joy than Maddie and Nick. So contagious, your cheeks hurt after an afternoon together.
It’s clear that Maddie and Nick were so ready for this day. Maddie was bubbly the whole day through, and Nick, in awe of everything she was. And the day couldn’t have been more perfect for a wedding! Downtown Charleston full of charm as ever, paired with the immaculate Grace Cathedral Church did not disappoint!
Despite COVID-19 throwing a wrench in their plans these two filled their day with close friends and family to celebrated. Having to postpone their wedding due to a global pandemic is not something any bride or groom ever thought they would be doing. To have to celebrate masked and without some of your closest friends, or family in attendance.
But As Elizabeth LaDuca says, “The time will come again where we can rush towards each other into an embrace, overwhelmed with joy and love. And when it does, it will feel all the sweeter, deeper, fuller because of this time apart.” Until then, Maddie and Nick made the most delicious lemonade with the lemons they were given!
I loved being a part of such an important day to such a genuine couple! God has seriously blessed me with couples who I can truly say, have turned into some of the sweetest friends. I can’t wait to come back next year and photograph it all again for their larger celebration!
