A big happy birthday to miss Olivia! This sweet little family/birthday session, located at Emerald Isle Beach, was a joy to be apart of! With a smile like that, how could you not love her already? Miss Olivia was simply contagious!

I will admit that I have a sweet spot in my heart for toddlers! Heck, the one I have just fell asleep next to his door crying out for mommy! They have a way of running away with your heart..(and, let’s be real, your phone, keys, pens, [insert your own].)

Though they can be trouble makers, they bring the happiest moments along with them. This was especially apparent as I stood behind my camera during this session and just observed the interactions of this sweet family. Toddlers have a way of forcing you to live in the moment. All of the plans that had to take place choosing or creating outfits, buying balloons, ordering a cake, bathing, dressing feeding.. every thing that went into the ‘behind the scenes’ of these photos, all disappeared the moment this family got to sit down and enjoy their little girl.

My little boy will be turning 2 in November and it’s hard to believe that he has been with me day in and day out for almost two whole years. Yes, I want to pull my hair out when I step on another gold fish, or we can’t find his favorite Sparky (his horsie) before bedtime. Sometimes I  don’t want to let him feed himself because I don’t want to clean up the mess instead of embracing his independence. And yes there are times that I can’t bare the hear the word “FIRE TRUCK” anymore because it happens every time a car passes outside. But when his little arms wrap around my neck and  melt me from inside out. And when he comes and jumps in my lap so he can see what ever video is playing on my phone;  I can’t help stopping for just a moment and thinking.. I never want to go back to a time where I don’t have this little boy hanging around my leg and calling me mommy.
