Hey guys! I am so excited to be starting this journey! To be totally honest, I was really scared of blogging. I didn’t know how or where to begin! But as I started taking on more and more sessions and learning new things about wonderful people, I wanted a place to really share a little bit about those who I get to know and photograph! So, I started doing my research! The process took months. Every night when my husband would call and ask how my day was and what I did, I literally told him, “I watched Everett and worked on the website again.” So not only am I excited to have it finally up and running, but I think he is too! And Yes, I did have to look up, “How to post your first blog post on Youtube,” but I made it here so that’s good!
So I thought I’d start off by telling you a little bit about me! I grew up in Cedar City and Manti, Utah! How might you ask? My parents were divorced so every other weekend my sister and I were in Manti! At an early age, I really took an interest in almost all things artistic. I dabbled in photography but had other interests like art and dance. I originally went to collage to be come a dance major but I ended up enjoying the classes I took for photography more.
College is where I met my sweetheart. From the time we went on our first date, to the time we got engaged was 8 Days. 8 DAYS PEOPLE! Not many people know that about us other than friends and close family. Some people call me crazy, and not to be cliche but when you know, you know.
About a year later, we welcomed our little boy Everett into the family! He is such an easy going kid and always makes me laugh! Just before Everett turned 1, Don (and I, because lets be honest… when one joins, you all join) joined the Marine Corps. This has been one of our craziest, yet most rewarding adventures yet! Don has been gone for 8 months and we finally get to be back together this coming June! We will be moving from our home in Southern Utah to our soon to be home in North Carolina!
As far as photography goes, I never imagined myself here! I didn’t pictured myself as a photographer, or even starting it as a business. I’m still a long way from where I want to be, but I’m excited to grow and I’ve already met so many people that I’ve learned from and who have helped me get to this point! I love learning new things and plan on eventually learning to shoot with film.
I love god, and want to acknowledge how much he has blessed me to be in such a wonderful career field with incredible people! It is my privilege to use the talents he has blessed me with to give back to others!
